The Loop

The Loop is an AMAZING neighborhood for restaurants all year round with so many different options catering to every possible  taste, but we here at Neighborhood Eats are getting in the holiday spirit so we’ve decided to do the Christmas version of the Loop!

Christkindlmarket

This German Christmas market located in Daley Plaza is the place to be this Christmas season. On weekend nights the market is packed with locals and tourists alike, bundled up and braving the cold to get some authentic German yumminess.

The go-to treat for the quick visitors is a mug of hot chocolate or spiced wine in the annual Christkindlmarket mug, but if you’re planning to stay for a bit your taste buds are in for a treat. They have different booths with different foods such as curried sausage, potato pancakes, German donuts which are also known as “Snowballs” and more! They are known fo their mugs which change every year.  They have become a collectible for a lot of people who are regulars at this notorious German Christmas market.

From giant soft pretzels to mouthwatering brauts, your German food fantasies will be met and surpassed at this adorable market. After you’ve gotten your fill of food make sure to look around at all of the wonderful artisan crafts available at the many stalls. But make sure to bring cash because it is cash only!!

A couple of the many things you can purchase at Chriskindlmarket!
