Sapori Trattoria
if you’re ever craving Italian food, do yourself a favor and get to Sapori Trattoria right fricken now. I have eaten my fair share of Italian food in my day and though I have never been to Italy, you could tell this food was the real deal.
Sapori Trattoria is a little bit on the pricey side, so if you’re trying to scrape by maybe skip it and head to noodles & co, but boy is it worth every penny.
Not only is the food positively drool worthy, the restaurant itself is stunning. Exposed brick walls and candlelight flickering throughout the room make it the ultimate romantic getaway. Or if you’re like me and decide to go with your mom, the cozy and inviting atmosphere fosters wonderful conversation and makes you feel right at home.
Broken English Tacos
Broken English has two locations in Chicago, but the Lincoln Park Location is the far superior option. Bigger and with a large patio the trip outside of downtown is worth it for the experience you get at this location.
Location aside, no matter which Broken English you chose you’re going to get incredible food. My personal favorite are the fish tacos, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The only downside is that chips and salsa are not included with your meal:(
To wash down your sorrow about no free chips, make sure to try their incredible selection of margaritas, but be warned they are STRONG. By the end of your second one you will have forgotten all about the chips you didn’t get.
GasLight
This edgy sports bar is always bumping at night, but let me tell you, they serve a mean brunch. Located at the heart of Lincoln Park (and just down the street from Molly’s Cupcakes) GasLight is as convenient as it is delicious.
The giant outdoor patio that can be closed in to make it all seasons gives the restaurant and cool trendy vibe that many sports bars are lacking all the while serving bar food classics like a champ.
The food is traditional American Style bar food that will have you unbuttoning your pants to accommodate a food baby by the end of the meal, but trust me you won’t regret it one bit. And if nothing else can be said, let me just say this: BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS.
