‘Tis the season to get boozy!

As Chicago gets colder nothing warms you up like a nice glass of spiked cider. We know how hard it can be to force yourself out of the house as the wind picks up and the warmth dies down, so we’re here to help you get your drink on, on the days when leaving the house just isn’t an option, or if you’re a better person than us and plan to go out and be social these are the perfect drinks to bring to your next holiday party!

Sticky Toffee Pudding Eggnog

  • 1 quart heavy cream
  • 10 ounces store-bought sticky toffee pudding (see Note)
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Cognac
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. In a container with a tight-fitting lid, pour the cream over the sticky toffee pudding. Cover and refrigerate for 2 days.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar. Stir in the Cognac and rum.
  3. Strain the infused cream through a fine sieve, pressing on the solids. In a medium bowl, whip 3 cups of the infused cream until stiff. Fold in the egg-yolk mixture. In a large bowl, using clean beaters, beat the egg whites with the salt on high speed to stiff peaks. Fold the beaten egg whites into the whipped cream. Refrigerate the eggnog until chilled, about 2 hours.

Marasca Fizz

  • 3 maraschino cherries, plus 3/4 ounce syrup from the jar
  • Superfine sugar
  • 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • 2 brown sugar cubes
  • 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering or cherry liqueur
  • 4 ounces chilled Champagne

Moisten the outer rim of a flute with 1/2 ounce maraschino cherry syrup and coat with superfine sugar. Sprinkle the bitters over the sugar cubes. Add the Cherry Heering, maraschino cherries and the remaining 1/4 ounce of maraschino cherry syrup to the flute. Top with the Champagne and add the sugar cubes.

Apple Cider Mimosa

  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 c. apple cider
  • 1 bottle champagne
  1. On a small plate, combine sugar and cinnamon. Dip champagne flutes in water to wet the rims, then dip in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  2. Fill champagne flutes 1/4 full with apple cider, then top off with champagne.

Apple Pie Punch

  • 1 apple chopped or sliced
  • 1 quart apple cider
  • 2 cups pear nectar
  • 24 ounces ginger ale
  • Apple Pie Vodka if you can’t find apple pie vodka, you can use caramel vodka!
  1. Combine apple cider, pear nectar, vodka and ginger ale. Stir well. Place apple slices inside pitcher.
  2. Pour over ice and serve! If you’re wanting to serve it warm, heat all of the liquid ingredients in a pot over a stove on low heat. Simmer for a few minutes until warm, place apple slices in the pot, and serve in mugs.
  3. **If you’re craving an alcoholic drink, add one shot (1.5 ounces) apple pie vodka to each individual drink, or 1 – 1 1/2 cup to entire pitcher

Apple Cider Moscow Mule 

  • 1 ounce ginger flavored vodka
  • 2 ounces apple cider (store bought or homemade)
  • Juice from one small lime wedge
  • 1/2 cup ginger beer
  • Cinnamon to sprinkle
  1. In a copper mug, add the vodka, apple cider and lime juice
  2. Fill the glass with ice, sprinkle cinnamon over the ice, then top off with ginger beer
  3. Stir well and garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick
